The great mother and son adventure to San Diego for the Stampin' Up! Getaway has begun! I get to go on this trip with my wonderful 12 year old - looking forward to memories that will last us for a long time!
Stampin' Up flew us from Minneapolis on a non stop flight, met us at the airport with a luxury charter bus, and brought us to the beautiful and historic US Grant Hotel is the Gas Lamp district. Our room is huge! Usually in a hotel I unpack everything right way so I'm not tripping over my suitcase - this room is so large that there is plenty of room for 2 luggage racks - so we are just working out of our suitcases. After a rest in the room we walked down to the ocean front an took a bike taxi brief tour and ride to Seaport Village for some shopping and dinner.
Diane, our biking taxi service was really nice - she had to talk Joe in to going on the tour but at the end he thanked her and told her that she was right, we should take the tour!
When we got back to our room Stampin' Up! had delivered our first pillow gift!
There was a note saying I could bring it to the Stampin' Up! Hospitality Area tomorrow and they would wrap it for us so that it will survive the trip home!
Isn't it gorgeous?! I love the bright colors!
In true Stampin' Up! style there were groups of demonstrators meeting up in the lobby to chat and swap.
It's been a fabulous first day! Can't wait for tomorrow's adventures!
