It's time to color your world with Stampin' Blends!
Stampin' Blends are here!! Stampin' Up's new line of affordable, easy to use, high quality alcohol markers! Do you have challenges coloring your hand stamped projects? Do you "go outside the lines?" Get line marks? Are your projects too monochromatic and lack shading? Stampin' Blends will solve all of that!
Why alcohol markers? The image on the left was colored with the standard Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write maker. It is all one solid color, no shading to speak of and some obvious marker lines. The image on the right was colored with the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker (on the outside edges and where the stamp image had black shading lines) and with the Light Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker (in the interior of the dress and repeatedly over the line where the dark and light colors met to blend them). So much more striking! I fell like an artist when I use these markers!
Things you need to know: Stamp the image with the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad for best results. If you color outside the lines, use the Color Lifter, go repeatedly over the marker line that you want to get rid of and it will disappear.
It is completely normal for the color to bleed through the paper (this is the backside of the paper). So make sure to protect your work surface with a piece of paper!
Need a custom matching accessory? No problem! Use these permanent markers to color Rhinestones and Pearls to match your project. TIPS: Use the bullet tip and apply gently to preserve the tips of your markers. I used Pearls for this card.
The markers are so permanent that they not only colored the Pearls but even the glue dot edges that poked out of the bottom! Oops! Next time I will just color the upper portion of the pearls and not the bottom part with the glue dot!
You can order the entire set of markers or pick and choose your favorite colors to try them out. The colors are available as a combo with light and dark or you can order them singly. If you follow my blog you know that Night of Navy is one of my favorite colors! I was excited to find that the markers are light enough to show off the stamp image and don't obliterate all of the stamped details! I used the Garden Trellis embossing folder for my background.
You can also combine colors from different combos - the markers won't be effected adversely if you color a light color over a darker one. I colored the face and hands with the Ivory Stampin' Blends marker.
Here is a peek at the inside of the card!
I'm looking forward to sharing more tips and videos with these fabulous markers soon! Happy paper crafting!
